It is always appreciated when sharing and giving to others comes from your heart. Sharing is caring and absolutely the best way to win over even the most challenging of personalities.
Did you know that in the world of social media and while utilizing the advances of today’s technology that networking can be fun, productive and profitable? How many of you actually use your time wisely and productively when it comes to making contact with other professionals or potential clients? Much improvement could be made in this area especially since entrepreneurs and those within the corporate world are busier than ever and carry plenty of responsibility. It would be great to find an easier way to grow your network.
One effective way expand your reach is by networking. The major goal of networking is to help other people, but networking is a two-way street. The number one priority to be a successful networker is building a relationship. Make it a priority to establish good communication when you begin to build a relationship. You can start today and put a smile on someones face as well as your own by sharing knowledge and information that can help others live a better life.
There are simple ways to incorporate networking into your fast paced life when you remember it is about building relationships and not about making money. With the proper balance of time management, dedication and practice you too can find a multitude of ways to help your business grow through networking.
Here are some useful networking tips:
- Provide value and find out what’s important to the person. Understand others needs before you tell them about your needs,
- Focus on finding the right people that relate to you; there is no need to network with everyone at the event. It’s better to have 5 people that you can connect with and build a win win relationship with than meeting 100 people that you never speak with again. It’s OK to ask for some help when communicating with others.
- Whenever you have the opportunities give the person your business card. Do so with enthusiasm and remember to get their card in return. If there is no addresses be sure to ask so you can follow up with a card. You can also jot down some easy to remember key points from your conversation. These key points will ensure that their card becomes an effective follow up tool within your contact list.
- Ask questions to people in your industry and model those who are getting results Create systems and test them if they are working, repeat; otherwise change them.
- Show a genuine interest in the person. Don’t expect anything. Be friendly and helpful. Be interested in what they are doing, Ask about their business or services. People love to speak about themselves, so ask questions and listen to their answers.
- Listen more than you talk. Be curious. You can only provide something of value to them if you listen to who they are and what they do.
- Connect like-minded people to one another. See if you can help them by connecting them with someone you know.
- Have a 30 second elevator pitch. Discuss a few words that say what you do, and who you are. For example, you could say ‘I help people be comfortable with money while creating the fortune they deserve and live the lifestyle they desire.’
- Follow up. After meeting someone for the first time, develop the relationship by following up with a phone call or E mail. Reach out to new people each week. Thank them for their time and reintroduce yourself in a few lines. As you get to know each other ask them for your address.
It’s important to build relationships first, add value, and have people trust you. By earning their trust, keeping them happy they will desire to do even more business with you and you could even make a new friend.
Having a positive mindset will help you achieve success and growth within your business or career. The time to start is NOW! ‘Do the do’ even if it’s in small simple steps. You will be amazed at your success and you will be inspired to push forward. Be enthusiastic, positive and uplifting by showing you care. Create a smile by sharing a few words of praise and watch them light up. Be one to add shine and sparkle to all you meet. Building relationships is fun and can make all the difference in your businesses and within you personally.
