Guest Post: The Inner Peace Within by Kate Graham Rainey
The Inner Peace Within
Kate Graham Rainey, my guest blogger, is a friend I met in Aruba on my Well-Being journey. I am excited to share Kate’s insight and meditation, which will help you experience inner peace.
Where do you find inner peace? I believe inner peace can begin in our mother’s womb. Our true self, before and at birth, is whole & pure. Within the first week of life, we take in and acquire a false self. Not by anyone’s fault, it is part of being human in a broken world.
By faith, Hebrews 11:1, and awareness, we can go back to our essence. As we accept the truth of who we are, then we can have courage to change & find freedom – at any stage of life.
“Everyone does the journey differently,” says my 85 year old mum. “There is no right or wrong way.”
We all mature spiritually in unique ways and time frames. It doesn’t matter how long it takes, as long as we keep moving forward. Jacob’s ladder may cause us to fall down a couple steps. That’s ok, as long as we get back on the range. A flood of tears, angst and emotional pain may be expressed before we experience this mysterious “inner peace.“
Inner peace comes from prayers and truth telling, which are divine messages to and from God. When we reveal truth to self, Source and another human being, healing begins. When our bottles are empty, we are not able to tell the truth or love unconditionally, which is defined as “giving without expecting anything in return.” Striving not to manipulate, control or judge during this searching time is easier said than done.
“Don’t hope that events will turn out the way you want, welcome events in whichever way they happen:
this is the path to peace.” ~ Epictetus
Inner peace comes from meditation and listening, which can be sitting, walking or lying down. This contemplation can be done journaling with pen and paper. Writing freely before the day begins is wise, as we can receive answers when the conscious is clear. Exercise, such as lifting weights, swimming or bike riding is a prime habit first thing in the morning.
Inner peace is a high energetic level, “similar to genuine love, short of enlightenment.” When we learn to become grateful, live gratefully and feel gratitude in every cell of our body, then we can experience inner peace. Learning how to access the potential of the already magnificent person you are is a form of this life changing attribute.
Going back to our divine and where the journey began, and then crossing over to the other side of the spiritual abyss to eternity is the core of inner peace. Being present in the midst of the beginning and end, completes this circle of life.
Kate Graham Rainey wrote this piece after her 85 year old mom asked “how does one find inner peace?”
