Daily Rituals For You To Feel Good

Do you find yourself getting frustrated, distracted, or easily irritated? Would you like to experience more happiness? Imagine what it would be like to start each day feeling happy and refreshed. Pretty nice thought and possible. How does one create a life filled with more joy? Begin creating more happiness by deciding today that you are going to commit to yourself to live the lifestyle you desire.  You can also start by getting disciplined about including daily rituals within your day.

Making the decision and adding focused action steps creates a strong foundation from which you can grow. Don’t worry about what may go wrong or allow yourself to get caught up in the negativity that is around you. Make a concerted effort to focus on the positive, stay appreciative for all there is to be thankful for and speak about what is going well within your life. When you focus on the positive, it’s the start of a wonderful day.

Being busy, on the run, or having a big list to accomplish can be overwhelming at times, but by breaking your tasks down into smaller action steps, you place yourself in a position for greater success. Learn to avoid the distractions around you. You control your thoughts and can have more joy-filled opportunities by embracing each experience with a positive attitude and by being present in the moment. What goals are you working on? Is there anything on the back burner you desire to accomplish but need to apply more discipline and consistency to make them a reality? What are you waiting for? The time is now!  Stop waiting on everything to line up perfectly, and learn to embrace each day and enjoy the journey.

What could daily rituals do for you?

  • Help you raise your energy.
  • Help you become more optimistic and give you a feeling of more confidence.
  • Help you relax.
  • Help your focus to finish tasks so you can accomplish the goals you desire.
  • Help you build a strong mental attitude.
  • Help you find peace and have more fun, which in turn increases your level of happiness.

Daily Rituals For You to Feel Good Each Day:

  • Expand your happiness by practicing gratitude. Keep a gratitude journal and write down each day five or more things you are grateful for.
  • Start your day by eating a healthy breakfast to nourish your body.
  • Focus on one daily achievement that includes a success you experienced during the day, that gave you joy.
  • Create a ritual to think a positive thought before going to sleep.
  • Move your body daily. Choose an exercise that you like and do it.
  • Write down six goals you want to accomplish within your personal and professional life. Prioritize them. Circle the top three and focus on only those goals until complete. Then move on to the other three that you highlighted if they are still important to you.
  • Do something you love every day that makes you happy. Pamper yourself, light some candles, get a pedicure/manicure, or have that long-awaited massage you’ve been putting off. You could also read a book, prepare your favorite meal, or call a friend you have not spoken to in a long time.
  • Sit quietly for five minutes and be still.

In addition to adding daily rituals to your life, it’s just is important to be still and quiet. If this is a challenge for you, then you are much overdue in receiving the benefits that being in the moment can bring into your life. Here is an easy and short exercise for you to practice. First, close your eyes, take a deep breath, and let it out slowly. Next, listen to the sounds of your body and your surroundings.  Relax and let your mind quiet. Don’t focus on any thoughts about the future or the past. If they come up, tell them to go away and replace them with the sounds of your body and your surroundings. Focus on your breath and allow yourself to feel the moment and relax. Do these three times. Being quiet and staying present for even five minutes a day goes a long way in relieving stress and will also give you a sense of peace that will re-energize your mind and spirit.

Even though you are busy, there is a time each day where you can take a few minutes for yourself.  Learn to become mindful of where you are spending your time and what you are doing each day. By becoming disciplined with your daily rituals, you will find yourself to be more focused while enjoying each moment of every day that much more.  Yes, there will be days that you may find yourself too busy, and you slip up. When it happens, take notice and remind yourself that you can add rituals to your life. Be gentle and loving to yourself, and then start again. With dedication, practice, and time, you can develop the life-changing habit of daily rituals. There is much we miss out on when we do.  Learning to be in the moment will place you full center in all that life has to offer. Embracing each day to live the lifestyle you desire is what joyful living is all about.
