Despite a historically weak seasonal period, eight of the eleven S&P SPDR sectors were higher last week. Energy (XLE) and Financials (XLF) were the leading sectors, and Consumer Staples (XLP) and Real Estate (XLRE) were the weakest. The SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) gained +1.42%.

China and Emerging Markets was stronger than the S&P 500. Small Caps, both Growth and Value, showed strength for the second week, a positive sign for the near term.
