Healthy Habits for Less Stress, More Ease, and More Joy
You have the power to create a flexible schedule on your terms. Using your freedom to decide and schedule what your day looks like gives you more time to do things that bring joy and enrichment. Decide to spend time on yourself or use the time to foster deeper relationships with your friends and family. It’s up to you.
Maybe you are in a position right now where you want to make a change and are unsure of how to start. Or you may be negatively impacted by circumstances that are out of your control.
People often choose tasks that others expect of them and ones they feel obligated to do. Initially, this approach may seem a good idea, but choosing the needs of others before your own can bring you to a point of feeling overwhelmed.
Whatever your situation, you can minimize stress. Be gentle with yourself by keeping things simple and doing what makes you happy and feels good. Instill the belief that you are capable of overcoming any obstacles. Decide your happiness and well-being are top priorities.
This shift in thinking may cause unexpected disruptions, which may lead to discouragement. Don’t allow these feelings to slow you down. Keep moving forward toward your goals and dreams. Expecting a few negatives through this journey will enable you to make the necessary adjustments for maintaining your mental and physical well-being.
Do you get frustrated or resentful because you are not taking care of yourself? Remember that your well-being is still a high priority when disruptions happen, and life appears to be out of your control. Whether it’s your child, pets, the phone, or something else – YOU have an ultimate say in how you respond.
