Embrace the Journey to Inner Peace

I’m honored to share my life changing inner peace journey with you. By doing so, it is my intention to inspire you to go after your dreams, goals, and desires free of struggle and stress as you develop a sense of pure inner peace. I’ve been able to finally experience this sense of peace through many years of coaching and consistent effort. It didn’t come easy all the time but I kept moving forward.  Gena Livings has been an inspiration for learning the importance of well-being for many years now. Thank you Gena, for all your support, encouragement, and love on my journey towards inner peace. It’s been a continuous life-changing, as well as, empowering work in progress. One of my biggest takeaways from this “experiment in growth” experience has been the revelation that an unwavering commitment toward self is needed and that you want to make purpose filled steps (one at a time) if you expect to achieve your aspirations.

 

As I said it wasn’t easy all the time, but let me share with you a bit of insight. To fully achieve inner peace you want to first focus on your well-being.  Invest in you and in your personal growth as you strengthen your mindset. This will lead you to a life filled with joy, happiness, love and the ability to support others.

Such a journey takes time and is filled with new daily experiences that shape your view, so don’t rush the process.

Remember too that it is best to accept each moment as they arrive knowing ahead of time you are learning as you go along.  We often get caught up on small unimportant events that only distract us from our journey toward inner peace. This applies to how you view those around you as well. 

  Relax, clear your mind, and see what unfolds. It takes practice but you can teach yourself to treasure each day, live in the moment, and be free.

Another thought to help you in your journey toward peace is to give yourself permission to be you. There is so much pressure and outside expectations to be more but the true gift is when you realize that you are enough. What you do matters and it’s good enough that you’ve done the best you can. Listen to your heart and take the time to celebrate you. You are one of a kind. A true masterpiece.

Once you start, you will be free to achieve what your heart desires and will have the fight within you to keep your dreams alive.  Living life on your terms with the understanding that time, patience and perseverance are three keys to success can be a freeing experience. Here is how I now define success.

Another lesson that I had to grasp is the understanding of just how short life is. Some of us find out too late but if you can learn this early then you are already ahead of the pack. You cannot sell yourself short by closing yourself off to the world. You have to allow yourself to fully live your life. One day at a time. After losing my mom to cancer I found myself holding my emotions inside for years, feeling numb, and not knowing how to clearly express what was going on inside. After a while, I realized it was too much to bear and the time had come for me to create change and release my fears by getting out of my own way. I finally gave myself permission to go after my own dreams and have never looked back. It was a process. I look back and realize I had gone through those dark days for a reason and that there is more to life than just going through the motions. There is a time that comes when we realize we have to do it for ourselves. 

You deserve to be happy.

Can you recall an incident that shaped your life and caused you to shut down? I recall how it felt to be sad and closed off. I yearned to have my voice heard, to feel peaceful instead of feeling uptight, anxious, and depressed. I was not in a good state of mind. I didn’t know what to do next. However, I knew something had to change.  I found coaches to walk me through the process of personal growth and development. The healing process began. I started learning about myself as an individual. I soon discovered that I was more than my job (what a shock this was.) and I learned it was OK to put my needs first.

When I learned the importance of self-care it was if a fire lit up inside that helped me feel like a new person who was energized, fully alive, and filled with the desire to learn and grow even more. I was finally able to commit to myself even though others didn’t understand. It was also at this moment when I finally felt my well-being journey truly began. It was as if something clicked and I was on a new path of healthy living.  No more pain in my legs, a stronger body, and healthier choices was motivation enough for me to keep going. And I haven’t looked back.

Do you find yourself going through the motions and doing the same things over and over? As I’ve made changes in my life, I know you can also learn to do the same even if you are unsure of how things will all turn out. Stay strong and your strength will shine. You will find a way to keep going without giving up as you learn to process your emotions in a healthy way. I thought you had to yell in order to be heard. Even to the point of sometimes screaming at the top of my lungs to get attention, I would yell at others only to my own detriment. It took time, but I finally learned that it is possible to speak with a soft voice and be fully heard and understood. The best part is that I even discovered that you often get better results when you do.

Of course, there are still challenges for me to overcome. This is part of everyday life. Through it all, I’ve learned the importance of believing in yourself because it helps you to attune to your higher self. I now know how important it is to stop and be in the moment, listen more than speak, and to be comfortable in putting myself out there for the world to see. When you trust that everything will work out, you let go of worry and soon find a sense of calm within. Finding an attitude of gratitude and graciousness is helpful on the journey of inner peace. 20 Mindful Ways to Embrace the Journey to Inner Peace

 

  1. Being gentle with yourself.
  2. Write down what you are grateful for.
  3. Shift your perception to align your thoughts with a positive attitude.
  4. Do what you love and are passionate about, that makes you feel good.
  5. Decide to make a commitment to your own self-care and personal growth. It’s OK to reach out for support.
  6. Let go of your past. Create a meaningful experience focusing on the present choosing what you want in your life.
  7. Look for and believe opportunities and possibilities present themselves each day.
  8. For on your own happiness. Don’t focus on what is wrong, focus on what is going well.
  9. Close your eyes, and allow yourself to be still and to do nothing for a minute or two. No pressure, no mind chatter, a moment for you.
  10. Unplug from your phone for a few hours.
  11. Reduce the amount of time you check your email.
  12. Let go of perfection and choose excellence.
  13. Go out of your comfort zone. Do something you have never done before. Change may be a little scary but worth the reward you will receive.
  14. Avoid multitasking. Focus on one item at a time. One pointed attention will set you up for success.
  15. Choose excellence instead of perfection. In this way, you will make progress instead of staying in the same place.
  16. Worry less and you will enjoy each day more.
  17. Don’t give a pickle about what others say.
  18. Be you.
  19. Listen to your intuition. Follow your heart.
  20. Put a smile on someone’s face today. Sharing is caring.

Decide today to take simple action steps that will move you forward. Stay away from negativity and fear.  This is not a place you want to be or cultivate. Keep in mind that you will attract what you put out into this world. Remain focused on what is good in your life as you embrace each moment. Each day is a new experience for you to enjoy your journey and to do the things you love. Go at your pace. It’s not a race. Do you best, it’s good enough. When you share your story with others you gain all the love, support, and confidence you will ever need to keep pushing forward. Life is beautiful, and by embracing the joys within your life you create a clear path toward having the life you desire and finding true inner peace.
