7 Keys to Achieve Your Goals

Are your thoughts up and down thinking about what to do each day? Does fear hold you back from doing and achieving what you would like to do? If either of these questions sounds like you,  you are not alone, and most importantly, it’s perfectly normal.

Fear can be paralyzing and limits you. Without taking an action step, you stay exactly where you are. You may have some resistance starting because you feel apprehensive and fearful, but don’t let that stop you. You alone get to decide what goals you want to achieve, and finding the answers you need may be closer than you think. I learned to face fears head-on by taking one action step at a time. You can start by trusting yourself and worrying less about what others think of your goals. Whenever you desire to achieve something, make sure you know what you want. It may take a little time, but you can step through and get more comfortable every day with practice.

Time, patience, and perseverance are keys to set you on your path to achieving your goals.  There is no need to succumb to unnecessary self pressure. Give yourself space to learn and grow.  Engage in different interests, doing what makes you feel good. Embrace new experiences, not focusing only on what you have been doing before and is within your comfort zone.

There are many ways you can alleviate pressure within your life. Have you thought about the overall cost of continuing to do the same thing over and over? Have you taken time to examine when and how you resist change? These are areas worth taking a closer look at, and if you are open to change and ready to create new daily habits and be consistent, you will find your days more fulfilling and gratifying.

Ask yourself, what could you do differently today? What new action steps can you take to increase your enjoyment and move you closer to completing your goals? Even the smallest steps are enough. With practice, you will find it possible to overcome obstacles and get through any fears you may have. You get to choose. It’s time to allow yourself permission to do the things YOU have wanted to do.

The longer you wait to decide what you want to do, the more time you’re wasting. It’s up to you to want something so badly that your passion shows through in your actions. Your actions, not your words, will do the shouting for you. -Derek Jeter

Don’t let fear stop you from reaching your goals. Without taking an action step, you stay exactly where you are.  I learned to face fears by taking one action step at a time to help me get through fear. You can do the same. It may take a little time, but you can step through with practice, and doing it anyway is key to getting where you want to go.

By acknowledging your fear, you can work through its hold on you. If you do nothing and let time pass, you may create more fear than you initially had. Sometimes we tend to hold off due to a lack of knowledge and the fear of repeating past mistakes. Change your perspective and think of them as lessons that springboard you to your future success.

There has to be some benefit from all you’ve experienced. Right? Here’s one example: Maybe you want to write a book, but you’re worried about what others think or the feedback you might get.  Start by writing a few paragraphs, then move on to an article, and share with people you know. Be sure to ask for feedback. Hearing both the good and the bad will help you improve.

With each step, watch how your confidence grows. It’s a great feeling knowing you can still push forward despite hearing words that may have held you back before. Small steps can reap huge gains. Allow them to work in your life by never giving up on what you set out to accomplish. I have some key points outlined to help streamline the process.

7 Keys to Achieve Your Goals

  1. Be gentle to yourself. Self-talk is powerful. Watch your words. Be aware of how you talk to yourself impacts your behavior. Say kind things to yourself as you would your best friend because doing so empowers your inner spirit.
  2. Don’t wallow in disappointment. Be aware of what may have triggered your mood swing. Accept how you felt at that moment and shift to a place of personal power, thinking positive thoughts raising your energy.
  3. Be thankful for what you have. Showing appreciation for even the smallest things places you in a positive mindset and sets up a path for even more peace and abundance in your life.
  4. Forgive, and let go of the past. Free your mind and spirit of the baggage that weighs you down. It’s so rewarding when you do.
  5. Say something kind to your friends and family. You will make their day. Sharing good feelings is good for the soul.
  6. Create a daily healthy routine or ritual that inspires you. I added yoga to my day and now participate in a weekly group class. It surprised me how much I enjoy each session. I finish each class more relaxed and re-energized. Here is a link to my favorite kundalini chant for yoga and meditation on YouTube called Longtime Sunshine. Make sure to share your thoughts and let me know what you think.
  7. Be patient. Patience equals progress. Be open to change. Give yourself and the process grace while you evolve.

By starting the action, you will begin to get more comfortable, and in time your fear will dissipate. It may not altogether leave, but you will be in a better position to move closer to reaching your goals despite any fear that you may feel inside.

If you are unsure of how to start, think about investing in a coach who can help you break free of your fears by sharing their experiences, providing encouragement, and keeping you accountable while helping you achieve your goals.

Avoid focusing on your fears when working on your goals. This approach allows you to grow faster and accomplish more than if you were to take no action. Decide now to commit to freeing yourself from fears that you are holding on to.

You don’t have to be perfect. You only have to start. Starting can feel overwhelming, but the possibilities for you to achieve your goals when you do are endless.

Everyone benefits when you first give yourself permission to take care of your well-being and facing your fears is a great place to begin. By creating new daily habits and forging a willingness to be consistent, you will have a solid foundation for making your days more fulfilling, gratifying, and fun.

Remember, even the most minor steps are enough. With determination and practice, you will overcome obstacles and find solutions when achieving your goals. Your fears will no longer hold you back but become the foundation for achieving your goals.
